Christmas Activities

The Empower project created a number of Christmas activities for families engaged in the project

We organised our yearly evening at a pantomime at the Waterside theatre in Derry- where we had over 30 families attending an Autism friendly performance of Cinderella.  We always get a warm welcome at the theatre, it’s so relaxed and friendly, and really got us in the Christmas spirit.  We all really enjoyed and with the front row seating there was no escaping the pantomime dames!  We had a very quiet bus on the way home-kids exhausted from screaming and dancing, but so much fun-even for the parents.

We also ran our usual coffee mornings in December in Clotworthy House, in the garden coffee shop in Antrim and in the parish centre in Magherafelt.  We also run a coffee morning each month in Tobin through Empower.

Our beauty students in the Northern Regional College in Magherafelt offered a Christmas pamper session on 10th Dec, where a number of parents had the opportunity to get treated with pedicures, manicures or facials.  More sessions planned for the New Year. Thanks to Marlene, Sharon and the students for getting this off the ground.
