Time for Me

The Empower project recognises that parents of children with additional needs are a great resource and support for each other, with this in mind  we established our coffee mornings, where parents get the opportunity for a bit of relaxation.

The Empower project has established regular coffee mornings in The Parish Centre in Magherafelt- who kindly open specifically just for our group on one Monday each month- they provide us with plenty of tea and coffee and beautiful home baked scones.  Parents have the opportunity to have a chat and a catch up and a bit of time out for themselves.

Following on from this we established our second coffee morning, in the Garden coffee shop which is in the beautiful Clotworthy House in Antrim.   Pre-schoolers are welcome to attend with parents at both sessions.

Still thinking about looking after yourself we have built a programme with the Beauty students in the Northern Regional College in Magherafelt, where once a month we have access to a range of treatments that the Empower project funds.   Places are limited but we have had a great response from parents and all are made feel very welcome by the students.  This partnership has worked as well as again it’s an opportunity for parents to think about themselves and their needs.

Future dates for both the coffee mornings and the Pamper sessions will be added to our website and Facebook page
