Lego communication skills for parents
Farranshane House, Antrim
This workshop will commence on Monday 21 January 2019 and will run for 1 session(s) ending on Monday 21 January 2019. Each session will begin at 6:00 PM and finish at 8:30 PM unless otherwise stated.

This workshop is two fold - to help adults in the care of a child or children communicate with them more effectively and then also to help engage children in a group to encourage their own social confidence - it is a practical workshop focusing on the art of communication.

As a LEGO based therapist I’ve utilised LEGO based therapy as an intensive intervention for a few years now - this training uses this as it’s principle and offers parents / carers the insight into an alternative, fun method of communication with their child.

We will use LEGO to practically show some basic skills of engaging child and how to enable a child to communicate through LEGO - in this new therapeutic manner and then we will look at how we adapt these skills and transfer them into the social arena to help a child grow in confidence in areas such as social interaction I.e. making friends / creating conversation and asking questions.
